Danggui (Chinese Angelica) helps to tonify the blood, clear postpartum blood stasis, alleviate pain and improve the Qi energy.

Black vinegar helps to purify the blood, improve digestion and appetite during the postpartum period. Together with ginger and sesame oil, this dish helps to ‘expel wind and dampness’ in the body. Pork trotter delivers the essential amount of collagen needed for lubricating joints, wound healing and provides anti-aging benefits.

Fish is favoured during Confinement due to the nutritional benefits and anti-inflammatory properties. It is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, which can help reduce the risk of postpartum depression, boost breastmilk production for the nursing mother and help with brain development in the baby.

Beef is high in protein and iron and it can help postpartum mothers to nourish and replenish the blood. Nursing mothers especially need to consume extra good quality protein and vitamin B-12, which can be found in beef.

Eggs are postpartum mother's superfood. They are protein and Vitamin D rich which help to repair the body, build healthy bones and support the immune system. When cooked with lactogenic ingredients such as Luffa Melon, it helps nursing mothers to boost the nutrient concentration of the breast milk.

Ginger, ginger wine and sesame oil are used in this dish as they are considered to be ‘warming’ in nature. Ginger and wine help to get rid of ‘wind’ and ‘warm’ the postpartum body, whilst sesame oil helps to promote blood circulation.

Mushrooms are known to contain a polysaccharide that support increasing prolactin levels hence help to improve and increase breast milk production.

Fish maw contains vitamins such as vitamin A and B12 that are crucial for maintaining a strong immune system during Confinement. It is high in colloid which helps to nourish the lung, joints & replenish collagen in the body, such as improving complexion and increasing breast milk production.

Choko is a superfood that is high in fibre, helps to promote digestive health and prevent constipation during Confinement. It consists chlorogenic acid that lowers blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

Black chicken herbal soup is an excellent source of healthy calories and nutrients for postpartum mothers. It helps to tonify, balance and unblock the Qi energy.

Lotus roots are packed with natural nutrients such as vitamin C, potassium, copper, which increase iron level that help to boost immunity and replenish blood loss during child birth. When added with peanuts, this comforting soup helps with lactation too.

Eating the right amount and types of carbohydrates provide energy for postpartum mothers, especially during breastfeeding, to recover and revitalise.
We serve different type of rice such as brown rice, black rice, basmati rice or combination rice like 5-grain rice as such multigrain rice makes it a low glycemic index food, which helps to regulate blood sugar levels and control weight gain.

Congee or rice porridge is easy to digest and is a good source of energy. When added with pork and offals, it supports healthy vision, boosts immunity and promotes wound healing.

Our stir-fry dishes are cooked with minimal oil and salt. Carbs such as vermicelli are a great source of carbohydrates, it contains no cholesterol and has a small amount of fat. When cooked together with fresh vegetables, it provides a good source of fibre to prevent postpartum constipation.
